Mom & Me for 2 Year-Olds
Our Mom & Me program is a great introduction to school. Moms and caregivers have the unique opportunity to watch their child begin to grow through school-related experiences.
Our Mom & Me program is designed to help children develop a positive attitude toward the school environment and to encourage children’s independence from Mommy by participating in teacher-directed activities.
2 1/2 Year-Old Class – Traditional or Drop-off
This is a wonderful option for children who do not meet the October 1st cut-off date. The first class is for children who need just a little more time in a Mom & Me type program before moving on to a 3 year-old program. This class meets for two hours from 9:15-11:15AM. It runs as a Mom & Me program from September through December and meets once a week. Then from January until June the class runs as a traditional 3-year-old co-op program and meets twice a week. At this time, Moms are in the classroom only when co-oping, which is on an alternating basis. The second class is a complete drop-off class on Tuesdays/Thursdays from 9:15-11:15AM where parents/guardians co-op throughout the year.
Our 2 ½ year-old program is designed to help children develop a positive attitude toward the school environment, and to encourage independence from parent/caregiver by participating in teacher-directed activities.
Learning Tree Preschool provides a warm, nurturing, and happy environment for your three year-old to learn and practice important early academic skills. The three year-old class curriculum is based on a Letter of the Week program. The children are introduced to a new letter of the alphabet each week, beginning with A. Activities, including story time and daily crafts, are centered around that letter. In addition, each child gets individual time with the teacher throughout the week to work on fine motor development, such as proper pencil grip and scissor use, as well as letter recognition and sounds.
Learning Tree builds on the foundations of the Letter of the Week curriculum learned in the three year-old program to ensure your child is ready for kindergarten and their academic adventures ahead.
Learning Tree Preschool provides a warm, nurturing, and happy environment for your Pre-K child in which to learn and practice these important early academic skills.
Afternoon Enrichment Program
Three to six-year old children who register for this program participate in their morning classes, go to Lunch Buddies from 11:45-12:45 to eat their lunches, play, and relax, then return to their classroom for the enrichment program. Children from the 3 year old program attend Enrichment from 12:45-1:30 on Wednesday and/or Friday. Children from our Pre-K program attend Enrichment from 12:45-2:00 on Tuesdays/Thursdays, Wednesdays/Fridays or all four days.
Annual registration is required for this program which runs the full academic year. Please refer to our Handbook for additional information on this class offering.
Children in the 3′s and Pre-K can sign up for an after-School lunch program on the days they normally attend class. The program runs 4 days per Week, Tuesday – Friday, 11:30-1:00. Children enjoy their home-brought lunch together and then play either inside or outside (weather dictating). Sign up or call by the day before to reserve a spot. Availability is limited. ‘Walk-ins’ will be accepted if there is room. The cost is $10.00 per day per child.
Learning Tree Preschool offers a baby-sitting service to families associated with the school. Many parents find our baby-sitting room a convenient means of providing for sibling care while co-oping or participating in Mom & Me. A babysitter is on staff five days per week. The parent must remain on the premises while the child is in babysitting. The babysitter will do no diapering, but will alert the parent if the child needs to be changed. The fee is $10.00 for the 2.5 hour sessions (4′s and 3′s), $9.00 for the 2 hour sessions (2 1/2 years) and $8.00 for the 1.5 hour sessions (Mom & Me’s). There is a 25% discount for each additional sibling. Please pay for the babysitting services at the office. You should sign up in advance to ensure that there is a spot available for your child and so we can maintain the proper state ratio. Please set up a pre-funded account at the beginning of the year in the office. Payments will be deducted from this account as used. Funds may be added to this account at anytime. Money not used will be used will be returned to you at the end of the year. When picking your child up, please date and initial the babysitting book.
